Colorful Boucherouite {recycled carpets}

The name "Boucherouite" comes from the Arabic word "Shraouite" and is the general name for fabric scraps, wool scraps or reprocessed wool. For a long time, the colorful Berber carpet was simply the “rug of the poor Berbers” who couldn’t afford expensive sheep’s wool. In recent years, however, it has become a popular interior design detail not only in Morocco but also worldwide. It harmonizes wonderfully with classic midcentury furniture, with simple and modern furnishings and goes perfectly with ethnic elements. There are hardly any limits to its use, whether in the living room or bedroom, whether in the bathroom or children's room, everywhere it gives the room an absolutely individual charm. Because each Boucherouite is made from recycled materials (cotton and synthetics) or leftover wool, each carpet is absolutely unique. The production is known everywhere in and around the Atlas Mountains and far into the country and is one of the most frequently knotted carpets in Morocco.
